A sauna in East Jakarta most often means the one thing denser districts can't offer: an outdoor cabin in your own yard. Houses in Rawamangun, Duren Sawit, Cipayung and the Cibubur corridor (DKI side) have the land for a thermowood cabin at 80–150 million, a garden ice bath at 45–90 million, or both as an open-air contrast space. The last remaining luxury: land
Land prices have squeezed Jakarta's new homes upward — two or three storeys on narrow plots. East Jakarta is the last big exception: Rawamangun with its generous campus-era plots, Duren Sawit and Pondok Kelapa with garden family homes, Cipayung and Ciracas still leaving air between the houses, plus the Cibubur corridor, chosen precisely for its land.
To us, land means options. An outdoor sauna cabin that has to be fought for through intricate layouts in the South simply gets placed in the East: a back-garden corner, beside the carport, or facing the existing fish pond. And the experience of walking five steps through the night air from house door to hot cabin — then later from cabin to cold tub — is the closest thing to a Scandinavian country sauna you can own in Jakarta.
The outdoor cabin: what makes it last in eastern weather
An outdoor cabin lives under Jakarta's two seasons: hours of hard rain and baking heat. Our construction answers both. Against the rain: a roof with wide overhangs, thermowood cooked to stability so it doesn't swell and shrink wildly, foundation feet lifting the cabin floor off wet ground, and cross-ventilation that dries the interior after use. Against the sun: the cabin's position is planned against the afternoon light — the west face gets extra protection or tree shade — and the exterior panels get a UV finish.
Power reaches the cabin through a proper outdoor run: cable in buried or shielded conduit, its own breaker, an ELCB. A 6–9 kW heater for an outdoor cabin wants the same supply as indoors — 7,700–11,000 VA — and the East's big-plot houses are usually there or easily get there; certainty comes from the survey measurement.
Garden ice baths and open-air contrast rooms
The outdoor cabin's natural partner is a cold tub nearby. In a Duren Sawit or Cipayung yard, the cold plunge sits on a timber deck with the chiller hidden along the fence — the garden drainage absorbs the splashes, and no indoor floor needs protecting. The full configuration — hot cabin, cold tub, transition deck — turns your garden into a contrast therapy room under the sky, at an indicative package price of IDR 100–200 million.
For those starting in stages, a standalone ice bath in the garden is the East's favourite entry point — IDR 45–90 million installed, and the guide to starting cold is in our ice bath beginners article.
Not just outdoor: indoor and infrared still run
Not every eastern home wants a unit in the garden. Custom indoor saunas in Rawamangun — often in a repurposed storeroom or maid's quarters — run at the standard 60–120 million. Infrared cabins at 30–70 million serve houses whose power hasn't been upgraded, and apartment dwellers along the Cakung–Pulo Gadung axis. The three-way comparison for your home's conditions is in our guide to choosing a sauna type.
One local note: for industrial addresses around Pulo Gadung, we also take employee facility orders — large-capacity saunas for staff quarters or factory sports clubs. The spec is commercial (from IDR 150 million) and the quote comes itemised, ready for a corporate budget submission.
Eastern pricing: DKI standard, honest logistics
Every range matches the other districts — outdoor 80–150 million, custom indoor 60–120 million, infrared 30–70 million, ice baths 45–90 million, contrast packages 100–200 million; the full table is in the pricing page. The East's logistics component goes into the quote as it is: distance from our Kebayoran Baru base adds a little mobilisation for Cipayung or Cibubur-DKI addresses, and the number appears as its own line — not buried in "miscellaneous costs".

Send photos of your yard or room plus the neighbourhood name — Rawamangun, Duren Sawit, Pondok Kelapa, Cipayung, Ciracas — via WhatsApp. The team comes to measure, checks the power supply and the sun and drainage angles for outdoor units, then sends a line-item quote with visuals. The neighbouring districts have their own pages: North Jakarta for rooftops and the coast, Central Jakarta for apartments, and South Jakarta our home base.
