Ice bath / cold plunge
Cold-water plunge tubs with a ½–1 HP chiller holding 3–15°C while Jakarta sits at 33°C — complete with filtration, ozone/UV and a watertight liner. Fits a patio, rooftop or master bathroom.
IDR 45–90 million
Areas
If South Jakarta orders the most saunas, North Jakarta is the ice bath champion: PIK's running and cycling crews, resort-style homes in Kelapa Gading, and rooftops that seem made for a dawn cold plunge. We install in this coastal climate with one important adjustment — components chosen for salty air.
Looking for a sauna venue in PIK? We're installers, not a sauna venue — we build saunas and Jakarta ice baths in your own home, rooftop or gym. A chiller-cooled ice bath is an indicative IDR 45–90 million, with a free survey.

The ice bath is our signature North Jakarta order, from PIK, Kelapa Gading, Pluit and Sunter: a cold plunge with a ½–1 HP chiller on the rooftop or in the garden, package price IDR 45–90 million, with components adjusted for the coastal climate. The sauna follows as the second unit — often in the form of a contrast package — and the free survey covers the whole of the North, with the usual 2-year construction warranty.
There's a cultural reason cold water sells so well in the North. PIK has Jakarta's most active running and cycling community — the coastal path fills from five in the morning. Kelapa Gading raised a generation that grew up in sports clubs. And the new houses in both areas are built resort-style: big rooftops, side gardens, generous bathrooms.
The usage pattern is distinctive too: cold sessions in the morning before the city heats up, not the evening sessions that dominate in South Jakarta. A 10K along the PIK path, home, three minutes in 8°C water, shower, off to work — a rhythm that works the chiller hardest at dawn, which is why we size chillers for northern clients assuming back-to-back use, not once a day.
Northern air carries salt, and salt eats cheap metal. Units we send to PIK, Pluit or Ancol are specced differently from downtown ones: an outdoor-class chiller casing with anti-corrosion coating, higher-grade stainless fittings and clamps, timber frames with extra finishing on the windward side, and chiller placement sheltered from the direct sea breeze — enough airflow to shed heat, enough cover to avoid a salt spray every evening.
For outdoor saunas in Kelapa Gading or Sunter gardens, the same logic applies to the canopy and hardware: hinges, handles and screws all rust-proof. Small details that separate a unit that lasts ten years from one that starts acting up in year three.
A PIK rooftop is the best cold plunge site in Jakarta — open air, privacy, morning sun. Two conditions get checked before the tub goes up. Structure: a full tub plus user means 400–600 kg concentrated; our survey checks the slab type, span and beam positions — most new-build concrete rooftops pass, and where in doubt we use a load-spreading platform. Water: fill and drain routes have to be planned — the existing roof drain is usually enough, but its position dictates where the tub goes.
The rest is pure pleasure: open sky at six in the morning, cold vapour rising off the water, and a city not yet noisy. Our PIK rooftop clients call the dawn plunge "the quietest five minutes in Jakarta" — and we've found no reason to argue.
The story repeats across the North: the ice bath goes in first, and six months later another chat arrives — "could we add a sauna?" You can, and it's even better planned from the start. Sauna + ice bath package combines the survey, electrics and pipework into one job; in Kelapa Gading's resort-style homes, the favourite layout is a dry sauna facing the garden with the plunge at the edge of the terrace.
For penthouses and apartments along the Kelapa Gading–Sunter axis, the route is like Central's but with our usual extra discipline: a fanless infrared cabin that asks for no power upgrade, a compact tub with the chiller on a damping pad so the unit below gets none of the hum, and a floor-slab check before the tub is ordered — feasibility confirmed building by building. The correct hot-cold protocol is in our contrast therapy guide, and the safe way into cold water in our ice bath for beginners article.
Our price ranges don't change with the postcode: complete ice baths IDR 45–90 million, standalone chillers 25–55 million, custom saunas 60–120 million, infrared 30–70 million, contrast packages at an indicative 100–200 million — all in the price table. What differs for a coastal address is one or two lines of corrosion-resistant components in the quote, written out explicitly with their prices — not a mysterious "location fee". You see exactly what the difference pays for.
Send photos of your rooftop, garden or bathroom plus the neighbourhood name — PIK 1 or 2, Kelapa Gading, Pluit, Sunter, Ancol — via WhatsApp. The team comes to measure free, checks the structure and water routes, then sends a line-item quote. Neighbouring districts: Central Jakarta for the apartment corridors, East Jakarta for houses with yards, and West Jakarta on the other side of the city.
FAQ
The lifestyle: PIK's morning running and cycling crews, Kelapa Gading's sporting culture, and new houses with rooftops or gardens ready to take a tub. A cold plunge is the logical next step after the morning workout here.
Yes, and we adjust for it: the chiller casing and frame use corrosion-resistant materials, the stainless fittings are specified a grade higher, and the chiller is positioned out of the direct sea wind. A unit in Pluit or PIK ends up lasting as long as one downtown.
The same as all of DKI: a full package with chiller IDR 45–90 million, a standalone chiller 25–55 million. For saunas: custom 60–120 million, infrared 30–70 million. Details on the pricing page; a firm quote follows the free survey.
A full tub plus its user can reach 400–600 kg over a small spot — which is why a structural check is a mandatory part of our rooftop survey. Most concrete rooftops on new houses are fine; the firm answer comes from the inspection, and where needed we spread the load with a platform.
